Singapore River.
this is one of the sculpture i love the most. The Singapore Tourism Board plans to set up an Open Air Interpretive Centre along the Singapore River. Life-sized sculptures depicting life along the river in old Singapore will be installed along the banks of modern Singapore River. The first sculpture, "First Generation" sits in front of the sparkling new Fullerton Hotel. The bronze sculpture shows five boys jumping into the river for a swim. Local sculptor, Chong Fah Cheong captured the simple lifestyle of people along the river in days gone by. Other local artists have been commissioned to produce sculptures of people, lifestyle and activities along old Singapore River.
this is the biggest & fattest bird i've ever seen.
We walked further down to Cavenagh Bridge, which was our next stop. Cavenagh Bridge was first built to allow people to travel from one side of the River to the other. However, with busy traffic on the bridge daily, and it was found out that the structure of the Bridge was not able to withstand the daily pressure. Thus, Anderson Bridge was built to ease the traffic on Cavenagh Bridge. From then on, Cavenagh Bridge was converted to a pedestrian bridge. Police notices were placed on each end of the bridge to remind people to not use the bridge to transport vehicular loads beyond 152kg.So,the day ended here.
